{"id":38812,"date":"2025-12-08T18:15:56","date_gmt":"2025-12-08T18:15:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stm-assoc.org\/?p=38812"},"modified":"2026-02-26T13:09:55","modified_gmt":"2026-02-26T13:09:55","slug":"white-house-asks-for-input-on-accelerating-american-science","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stm-assoc.org\/white-house-asks-for-input-on-accelerating-american-science\/","title":{"rendered":"White House asks for input on accelerating American Science"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Through December 26, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) will be taking &#8220;input from all interested parties on Federal policy updates that aim to accelerate the American scientific enterprise, enable groundbreaking discoveries, and ensure that scientific progress and technological innovation benefit all Americans.&#8221; The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/documents\/2025\/11\/26\/2025-21150\/notice-of-request-for-information-accelerating-the-american-scientific-enterprise\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Request for Information (RFI)<\/a>\u00a0indicates that this is part of \u00a0&#8220;a comprehensive assessment of how the Federal government prioritizes and structures scientific research.&#8221;\u00a0<strong>STM and its members have a lot to contribute to that discussion, and we encourage submissions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While much of the RFI is focused on accelerating the pipeline from research discovery to application, many of the specific questions focus on how policy (including copyright and IP) helps or hinders the advancement of science.
