As noted in last month\u2019s newsletter, NIH has formally proposed a\u00a0cap on the use of NIH grant funds for publication costs<\/strong>\u00a0in a\u00a0blog post<\/a>\u00a0and an associated\u00a0request for information<\/a>. STM CEO Caroline Sutton met with the NIH Office of Science Policy in August and was told that they are\u00a0very open to the comments, and want to consider potential unintended consequences of the proposed options as well as alternatives.<\/strong>\u00a0STM continues to strongly encourage all members to submit\u00a0comments through the 15 September<\/a>\u00a0deadline.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
