Taken together, the efforts aim to remove any road blocks from the active development and deployment of American AI. Counter to the Biden Administration&#8217;s risk-based approach, the executive orders and action plan focus instead on promoting the unrestricted use and development of AI, as referenced by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.csis.org\/events\/unpacking-white-house-ai-action-plan-ostp-director-michael-kratsios\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">OSTP Director Kratsios&#8217; comments<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The fear of AI potentially supporting equity seems to be the administration\u2019s only concern about this new technology. An executive order aimed at \u2018<a id=\"menurug4\" title=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/07\/preventing-woke-ai-in-the-federal-government\/\" href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/07\/preventing-woke-ai-in-the-federal-government\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Link Preventing\n Woke AI in Federal Government\">Preventing Woke AI in Federal Government<\/a>\u2019 is\u00a0<strong>explicitly designed to prevent AI from promoting diversity, equity and inclusion, which it characterises as a \u2018destructive ideology\u2019.<\/strong>\u00a0(The other two executive orders address\u00a0<a id=\"menurug6\" title=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/07\/promoting-the-export-of-the-american-ai-technology-stack\/\" href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/07\/promoting-the-export-of-the-american-ai-technology-stack\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Link \nexporting American AI technology\">exporting American AI technology<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a id=\"menurug8\" title=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/07\/accelerating-federal-permitting-of-data-center-infrastructure\/\" href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/07\/accelerating-federal-permitting-of-data-center-infrastructure\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Link \ndata centre infrastructure\">data centre infrastructure<\/a>.) Accountability and transparency are not prioritised and Administration officials note that copyright concerns should be addressed by Congress and the courts.<\/p>\n<p>Troublingly, while announcing the plan, President Trump also made a negative\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/politics\/news\/trump-rejects-ai-training-compensation-1236468459\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">comment<\/a>\u00a0about paying for content used to create AI models.\u00a0We\u2019ll continue engaging with US policymakers to counter this perspective.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last month, the US unveiled its\u00a0AI Action Plan\u00a0accompanied by three executive orders.
